ABOUT

BIRINA HANDMADE IS A TRADEMARK-REGISTERED BRAND.

All the products available on this site, ranging from Assamese Gamusa to apparel made from gamosa are handmade and are based on the traditionally made clothes in Assam.

Our weavers, designers, and tailors are mostly housewives from the marginalized communities of Assam. With "Birina Handmade", we try to provide them with a decent living out of their raw talents using the raw clothes we source from the land.

Moreover, Birina is a cluster-based social enterprise aiming to uplift the weaver communities in Assam.

Focused on Assamese Gamusa, Birina Handmade is trying to make a bold move by pivoting its existing tech stack from Web 2 to Web 3. As a proud Assamese, at Birina, we understand the significance of authenticity when it comes to our beloved Gamusa.

Identifying an authentic Gamosa is hard, though it shouldn't be!

That's where Blockchain is supposed to help us.

To tackle this Authenticity issue head-on, we devised an ingenious solution at Birina.net. We decided to add NFT authentication to our platform. Now, our customers can order their Gamusa just like they always have. But here's the added solution – when they receive their product, they can scan a QR code or tap an NFC tag attached to the Gamosa they purchase. This QR/NFC allows our customers to claim an NFT, a digital proof of authenticity on Blockchain for their purchase linked to a particular Gamusa.

Regardless of the awareness of web3, one can easily place an order and enjoy authentic Gamusas through us, Birina Handmade. So, whether you're a tech-savvy youngster or a wise baby boomer, Birina.net has got you covered with Gamusa and its authenticity with the help of web3 technology.

If you're NOT a tech person at all, here's a BLOG POST on "How to Identify an Authentic Assamese Gamosa Even Without Blockchain Traceability?" to help you identify an authentic Assamese Gamosa at ease.
